The Surgicentre, on the site of the NHS Lister Hospital, Stevenage, is dedicated to non-emergency surgery and features six operating theatres, including a dedicated eye theatre. The Surgicentre also contains outpatient and opthalmology services, including urgent eye clinic facilities.

This new privately funded and operated day case surgery centre will greatly widen the range of medical services available to the local community. Used for both public and private practices, this facility is flexibly designed and provides modern facilities with the latest technology.

The provision of this Surgicentre will enable the NHS to reduce waiting times and drastically minimise the number of cancelled operations. It will commence service from April 2011 and be operated by Clinicenta, a Carillion company.
