Nigel has been involved in Irish market over three decades and recently he spent two years as an SPV General Manager for the construction and operational rollout of 14 new Primary Care Centres throughout Ireland, managing a budget of circa €140m.
Nigel is a Chartered Civil Engineer, and has 20 years public private investment delivery experience including close to 5 years as SPV Project Director for DBFO 1 Westlink project in Belfast. He has worked as a PPP project director since 2010. Most recently, Nigel gained wide experience in managing and delivering projects in Scotland, as Bid Director for a £750m road infrastructure programme, and in the North West of England, as a Project Director delivering an 85 bed mental health facility for Mersey Care Trust, with a capital value of circa £22m.
He started his career with 15 years at major engineering consulting giant Atkins plc in the late 1980s, including over two years working on the new Foyle Port in Derry/Londonderry Northern Ireland.
Through reinforcing the development team, Kajima signals increased commitment to developing its presence in Ireland. Kajima is seeking to broadly increase its work across the Irish market, including PPP projects, with a focus on integrated primary and social care units and higher education facilities.
Kajima was recently awarded a £40m contract to develop a new Primary and Community Care Centre in Lisburn, Northern Ireland and is currently awaiting planning approval on a similar facility in Newry. Nigel will work to deliver similar projects in scale and nature, as well in social housing, elderly care, and mixed use regeneration projects.
